Exceptional tutoring experience according to your student’s general or special education academic needs
We provide professional and personalized tutoring that builds lifelong academic mastery to college and beyond. We specialize in foundational reading comprehension, math and writing for kindergarteners-third grade.
We strategically align each session to the specific skill the student needs.
Over time the student will begin to work independently and build confidence.
I STRATEGICALLY ANALYZE STUDENT DATA (PROGRESS) DURING EACH SESSION.
Reading comprehension sessions are based around questions regarding the student’s book of choice. Reading comprehension is crucial to students understanding what he or she is reading. Oftentimes we hear, “My student is above reading level but I do not understand why they are able to read so well but not comprehend what they are reading”, right. At that point the student is reading to read. During our sessions we provide specific strategies that your child will be able to ask themself overtime and independently. The goal is to read with understanding.
I’ve always said, “Math runs the world”. Foundational math skills are the base of how students progress throughout their school years. We take math seriously but teach fun applicable strategies. During the session we review mathematical vocabulary that will direct the student to the “why” they are solving the problem and using that specific strategy. We review the previous day’s lesson in order to master a skill. Over-time your student will feel confident and master foundational math skills.
During writing sessions, the student will choose topics geared towards the students interest. In my 10+ years of teaching I’ve learned that students enjoy writing about their interest. When we write about our interest we become better writers. We become better writers because we are able to edit with confidence due to understanding what we are writing about.
I am honored to say that I had the privilege of being a classroom teacher for 10+ years. The desire to teach began when I was in elementary school.
As an elementary student I struggled to comprehend reading, writing and math. I knew from a young age that I would become an adult and help students succeed in these 3 areas.
Fast forward to receiving a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in early childhood special education. Being ranked a highly effective teacher and exceeding as a professional led me to my next transition.
